what I’m wearing

My hopes in sharing my outfits is that you find some style inspiration in them. Whether it’s combining pieces you wouldn’t have thought of, different ways to style one of your favorite things, or even a nudge to just WEAR THE OUTFIT.

For reference, I’m typically a size 8/10 on the bottom and a medium on top, but it ranges ALL the time for me with so many pieces, and I’ve learned that’s okay and normal! Our bodies are not made to fit into clothes, clothes are made to fit our bodies. Fashion is an incredible way to express ourselves and our current style, but it’s important to keep in mind that we are created for much more than worrying about the way our arms look in a tank top (easier said than done, I know). The better you feel in the outfit, the better you’ll look in the outfit.

My personal style fluctuates week to week, and pretty seasonally, too. My style tends to be more boho + eclectic in the summer, preppy in the spring, colorful + edgy in the winter, and classic cozy in the fall. But again, it changes frequently depending on what I’m feeling, what I’m seeing, and how inspired I am. Some days I feel braver and bolder in my outfit choices than others, and that’s okay. Not every outfit has to be a groundbreaking look for the fashion world. Sometimes it’s just a good and classic outfit that’s easily replicated. I hope to convey a little bit of all of that in this weekly runway roundup.

This outfit felt right for a day of thrifiting + sifting through some vinyls.

Pattern mixing feels safer when the colors are coordinating. Paired some barrel jeans with an oversized polka dot button up, wore a bandana as a belt, zebra flat-brim hat, and chunky + colorful jewelry.

If you don’t own a Dickie Collar, you need to invest in one. Pronto. They’re the easiest to layer under sweaters, tees, crewnecks, etc. without all of the bulk. I paired this ruffled denim collar under an oversized t-shirt. Then, added lots of layered jewelry, some yellow-striped boxer pants, and platform denim sandals to tie back to the collar. This outfit felt easy to piece together, but got LOTS of compliments at work.

Give me color or give me death. Or whatever Patrick Henry said. Both of these pieces are from Henhouse Shoppe, and I had to add them to my closet. I added some colorful wavy headbands from Target, platform sneakers, and officially decided this is my go-to travel, errands, and off-day fit.

You’ll notice a pattern of scarf / bandana looks in this roundup. I’ve loved the head bandana look for a couple of years now, but it’s looking like it’s about to get big this summer. I’m also playing around with different ways to style them in This Week’s Runway.

I paired this head-bandana with a denim top, oversized white parachute pants, and (of course) chunky jewelry. It was comfortable and easy, but just edgy enough.

I’m gonna be honest. I was really scared that the long, unisex, bermuda style jorts would do me really wrong. But I was pleasantly surprised. I got them from a local vintage seller and was really excited when they actually fit. For a simple style, I paired them with clear jellies, a black tank, and a satin pink bandna styled as a wild rag for the majority of my accessorizing. This was a super-simple look, with just enough accessorizing to still feel like me.

Ladies and gents, we are winding down This Week’s Runway with yet another bandana scarf style. This actually worked really well as a bathing suit top cover while strolling through Pier Park. I did, however, pack fifty pounds of clothing to spend one of my outfits on a silk scarf that I had just thrown in the top of the suitcase.
